Building A Strong Reputation

About Us

For more than thirty years, Sawing and Shearing Services has used cutting-edge technology to fabricate steel for small businesses and nationally recognized companies.

A Tribute to our Founder

The success of Sawing and Shearing is rooted in our founder, Jack E. Sambo.

Jack had 26 years of experience in the steel world before taking his retirement from Ryerson Steel. He had a dream to impact the world and found his opportunity through opening his own steel company — Sawing and Shearing Services.
Jack recognized the need for a steel fabricator in the Chicagoland area and took a risk starting his business with one saw and one shear.

Jack’s perseverance through the obstacles of being a small business owner is the reason we stand here today — a respected leader in steel fabrication services.

“Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit.” These words by Napoleon Hill were shared by Jack’s daughter, Christine, in 1995. The words were a reminder to never give up on his vision. Today, Jack’s incredible vision and legacy live on through his children, Tony and Christine, who now run Sawing and Shearing Services and manage business operations. We remember and celebrate Jack’s big heart, refusal to quit, and will continue supporting the vision he had in 1991.
